Michael R Pierce was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on December 25, 1940. His father US Army Air Corp Captain Robert Redding was tragically killed in a B-24 plane crash in late 1942 at which time his mother, Helenjane, married US Army Air Corp Captain Russell K. Pierce Jr.
Being in a military family Michael traveled many places as a child including Tripoli, Tokyo, Kansas, Nebraska, and Colorado. Upon graduating high school at Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs in 1960, Michael was accepted to Premedical school at Colorado State University, in Fort Collins, Colorado. It was there he met the love of his life, Barbara whom he married June 21, 1964. He was commissioned in the Air Force as a 2nd lieutenant and then was stationed at Norton AFB, California. Their son Scott was born September 5, 1964, and their second son, Courtney was born October 28, 1969.
After 8 years in the Air Force and attaining the rank of Captain, Mike and his family moved to Denver where he began his career as an entrepreneur and started numerous businesses including a nightclub, a salvage business, retail stores, a building supply company, real estate investments, and many other joint ventures. He was joined in business with his partner and brother Stephen, and later his sons Scott & Courtney.
He lived a wonderful life surrounded by family and friends which are too numerous to mention. He loved dining at fine restaurants, playing pool, fishing, and golf, but mostly being with his friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Scott and his wife Suzanne, his son Courtney, grandchildren Jacqueline, and Evan, his brother Stephen and his wife Linda, his sister Anne and her husband Bill and their respective families.
