Michael Atencio

Michael Atencio a resident of Wheatridge, Colorado, born on February 18, 1987, was called home on November 18, 2017 to his eternal resting place and into the arms of our Lord.

Michael was preceded in death by his biological father Gerald Atencio, grandparents and several uncles.

Michael was a fun spirit, with a laid back personality. He loved spending time with his family and friends, eating good food, drinking cold beer, listening to music, joking around and laughing. Michael attended Denver North High School and graduated in 2005. He then continued his education and pursued his passion for the arts at the Art Institute of Denver, where he graduated with a degree in graphic design. Michael worked several jobs, but his passion was always for the arts. He spent much of his time perfecting his talent through sketching, painting, and appreciating his fellow artists. His work was recognized as that of a talented artist, and is displayed throughout the city of Denver.

Michael is survived by his parents, Jose and Gloria Trujillo, who raised him as their own and whom he loved so very much; his brothers Damian (Devin) Atencio and Isaiah (Ashley) Hernandez; sisters Leeann (Julian) Jaramillo, and Angelique (Dominic) Giron; nephews Erick, Dominic Jr. and Samuel; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Rosary will be held at 7PM on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the St Francis Jerome Catholic Church in Center, Colorado. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Saturday, December 2, 2017 also at St Francis Jerome Catholic Church, followed by interment at La Garita Cemetery in Center, Colorado. The family of Michael Atencio would like to thank everyone for their prayers and generous donations.
