Merilee Throckmorton

Merilee McCracken Throckmorton was born at St. Joseph's hospital in Denver, Colorado on August 6, 1937 the only child of Jack and Georgia May Cassell McCracken. She passed on January 31st at Swedish Hospital in Englewood, Colorado after a short illness.

Merilee attended schools in Doyleville, Colorado, Cherry Creek, Colorado and Denver Business School. She was a long time office manager for various engineering firms in Downtown Littleton including Trueline and Frost Engineering. Her name is on a plaque on Mars due to her excellent team work on the Viking project.

In June 1996 she married Alwyn Alvord Throckmorton, Jr. in Englewood, Colorado. She was an active member of Resurrection Anglican Fellowship and Eastern Star. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, quilting and weaving. She was very good at what ever she attempted. She also loved animals and is survived by her last cat Purr, whom she rescued from a fox in her yard.

She is survived by her beloved Husband Al Throckmorton of Englewood, Colorado and her dear friends Jim and Carolyn Winkler as well as many other freinds. She is also survived by her 4 step children Arthur Throckmorton of Glenmoor, Pennsylvania; Sugar Throckmorton Terbush of Manitou Springs, Colorado; Kippi Throckmorton Hart of Pueblo, Colorado; and Tim Throckmorton of Kintersville, Pennsylvania as well as 5 Step-grand children and 4 step-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 9:30am at the regular meeting of the Resurrection Anglican Fellowship at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado.
