Mary “Elaine” Turner, 81, passed away on February 14, 2022. Elaine was born on August 2, 1940 in Victor, Colorado. Her parents were Sylvia and John Happy. She had two siblings, Don and Shirley.
Elaine is survived by her husband Woody, daughter Gloria (Gil), son Kent, daughters-in-law Rhonda and Shelley; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her brother, Don; and sons Ron and Rick.
Elaine was active in many clubs and organizations growing up, including Job’s Daughters in Jr. High, and student council in high school. She graduated from North High School in 1958. Elaine married Sherwood “Woody” Turner on October 8, 1958. Together they had four children, Ron, Gloria, Rick, and Kent. Elaine was a gifted crafter. She sewed, cross-stitched, and worked on projects around the house. When Woody would be out of town for work, he would never know what kind of project he would come home to. She also enjoyed collecting bears and angel figurines.
Elaine was the matriarch of her family. She loved getting the entire family together for BBQ’s and hosting holidays at her house. She was heavily involved in the lives of her grandkids. They loved spending the night at her house and going on trips with her. She made sure to stay in touch with her kids and grandkids often, and loved talking to her great grandchildren on the phone. She left a legacy in the hearts of many generations.
