Our Beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother,Nana, Aunt and friend Mary "Rita" Trent went home to be with Our Lord and Savior May 31st, 2017.
Borto Helen Lucero and Ben Sandoval in Raton, New Mexico on May 22nd, 1939, she was the oldest daughter of five children. Rita's family moved to Stockton, California in 1942. She was an Edison High School graduate and obtained her Cosmetology license shortly after. Rita had an ability to create and a gift of encouraging and making people feel like they were everything God made them to be. As a mom she volunteered and spent many hours investing in not only her children but the countless children she called her own. Rita had a love for children and a gift to teach, mentor and inspire. Her artistic ability and gift for creating and encouraging led her to put on countless programs, plays and talent shows for St. Luke's, Tokay Colony and Morada Middle School. This is where she made an impact with children that lasted a lifetime."Mrs. Trent will always be remembered as a second mother to all those that were blessed by her gifts."
In her later years she worked as a Recreational Therapist for the elderly. She again used her fun and spunky personality to encourage and uplift a different group of individuals. She spent the last two years of her life with her daughter's family in Colorado. The precious memories she created with them will be cherished forever.
Rita is survived by her daughter and husband, Kyle and Devonne Rohde of Lodi,California; her daughter and husband, Aldo and Patrish Iaquinta of Aurora, Colorado; her son, Patrick Trent Jr. of Susanville, California, seven grand children, Nicole Weideman, Gilbert Trent Jr., Angelina Trent, Alyssa Trent, Mekayla Iaquinta, Antonio Iaquinta, Daniella Iaquinta and two Great Grandchildren, Nadie and Lincoln Weideman.
