Mary Holabird McAuliffe Newman, a devoted mother, nurse and beloved friend died unexpectedly on June 6, 2015 at the age of 63.
Holly is survived by her two children; Robert Newman IV and Elliott Newman and beloved husband, Bob Newman. She leaves behind her stepmother Helen McAuliffe, her sisters; Eloise Sattel and Linda Joy, her brother; John McAuliffe I, her nephews; John McAuliffe II, Stirling McAuliffe, Austin Grant, Lucas Sattel, and her nieces; Chelsea McAuliffe and Margot Sattel.
Holly was born in Princeton, New Jersey on August 23, 1951 to Jack McAuliffe and Joan Harris McAuliffe. After many years of being a stay at home mom; she graduated from Arapahoe Community College in 1997 with an Associates Degree in Nursing and worked as a devoted nurse for almost 20 years. On July 28, 1973, he married Robert, after falling in love in prep school. On February 15, 1984 and February 24, 1988 respectively, she welcomed her two handsome sons, who were the most important part of her life.
Holly, also known as Birdie, had a magnificent spirit and beautiful soul. It is of certainty that Birdie lived a happy and fulfilling life. She always went to her own drumbeat and dazzled the masses with her beauty, both inside and out. She had so many things that she wanted to do; including skydiving with her sons, getting settled in her new home with Bob and traveling to Prague this summer before she was unexpectedly called to the light. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on June 20 at the barn in the Evergreen Highlands located in Evergreen. Flowers, donations and condolences may be offered at 1036 South Cole Drive, Lakewood, CO 80228.
