Mary Leyba

Mary Gene Leyba (Genie), passed away in her son Jimmy’s loving arms, at their home, on May 26, 2018.  Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Leyba and her parents Pablo Martinez and Lucy Garcia. Mary is survived by her two sons, Jimmy Leyba Jr. (Caregiver for past 5 years), and Lawrence Lopez; daughter, Margaret Gabaldon; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.  Genie lived life to the fullest, sassing her hair back as she danced, being bratty when she didn’t get her way, knowing she was loved by anyone who was lucky enough to get to know her, spending time in the casino with family, having drinks when she felt like it, and smoking because it was her life!! Services will be held at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church, 8321 Camino San Martin SW on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.  Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m., Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m., and Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m.  Burial to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jimmy Leyba Jr., Lawrence Lopez, Fred Martinez Jr., Lawrence Chavez, Orlando Vigil, Lawrence Lopez Jr., Honorary Pallbearers, Adriano Chavez and Felipe Candelaria. May she rest in peace and know she'll always be in our hearts.
