Mary Guerrero

Mary Lou Guerrero (Hernandez), 87 of Denver Colorado passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014. She was born in Pueblo, Colorado on January 9, 1927 to the late Sarah and Mike Hernandez. Mary attended Garden Place Elementary, Cole Junior High and Manual Trade School. She married Manuel Guerrero in 1948.
Mary is survived by three beautiful children, Diane Guerrero Ortega of Lakewood, Colorado; Carl J. Guerrero of Denver, Colorado and Clarisse P. Birge (Donald) of Silverthorne, Colorado. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Mary was the last survivor of 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Mary sang on the Paco Sanchez Show and Events during her early years. She was active with Meatpackers Union Local 21. Mary was active with the Lady Sodality at Our Lady of Grace Church and was an excellent cook who enjoyed perfecting new dishes. Everybody loved her homemade tortillas for which she would make ten dozen at a time. She was beloved by many friends and acquaintances. Mary's family would like to thank Denver Hospice for their compassion and kindness.
Services will take place at Horan McConaty 3020 Federal Boulevard at 1 p.m. with a Rosary and Services at that time. Friends and Family are invited to a reception at Mary's home at, 5005 Steele St. Denver, CO.
