Mary Brummell

December 21, 1928 — February 26, 2017

Brummell, Mary Sue

Mary Sue (Baugh) Brummell, Daughter, mother, grandmother, great-  grandmother and friend, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Sunday, February 26, 2017.  She was born December 21 1928 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to William and Margaret Stapleton.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, son Jim and nine siblings: Edward, Dub, Nola, Helen, Ann, Margi, Kathryn, Betty, and Buddy. Mary loved people - in fact if you knew her, you were probably considered her very best friend.  She was extremely independent and never wanted help, for she felt she could do most anything. Mary loved to sing and had a beautiful soprano voice.  She sang for the Messiah performance at her church in Cedar Crest for many years. She was always active - she loved cross country skiing, a bit of golf, dancing and hiking.  Her love in life was her cabin in Conejos, Colorado where she could be found from April to the first of November.  Hiking the trails and visiting with her Colorado friends was how she kept busy during this time of year.  Mary worked many different jobs during her life, but her favorite was being a teacher’s assistant.  She loved interacting with all her students!

Mary is survived by her daughter, Margi and husband Dave, a daughter Patty, daughter-in-law Susan, her grandchildren: Melissa Covel and her husband Troy, Joshua Wintermute and his wife Rachael, Samantha Yu and her husband Steve, Christopher Baugh and his wife Leigh and Rebekah Howard and her husband Ben.  She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Jayson, Christian, Jaydon, Ryanne, Landon, Ronnie and Jubilee.  She will also be missed by her in-law’s: the Brummell’s: Jerry, Pauline and family.  Her friends Frank and BJ, Erin and Jeremy were more like family.  I also want to thank Richard Wintermute for his care, love and support of her during her last few years.

In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to Glory Christian Fellowship for support of their Orphanage in Kenya, Africa.  Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 4th at 11:00 am at Glory Christian Fellowship, 2417 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
