Mary Kay was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on September 12, 1941. She was the daughter of William J. McAndrews, Sr. (“Mac”) and Mary Elizabeth Connolly McAndrews. She had two siblings, John Michael and William McAndrews Jr.

She was married to William J. Boyd for 52 years.  She was a loving mother to Elizabeth Morgan, Barbara O’Connor, John Boyd and Bob Boyd. She had seven “wonderful grand people” as she liked to call them.

Mary Kay was a “lover”, as her husband “Bill” would call her. She loved everyone and was always easy to talk to.  She was a walking storybook of characters, who frequently came in and out of her 80 years of life. Everyone who met her found her to be positive, up beat, and memorable. Her Catholic upbringing left a lifelong impression on her behavior, morals, and approach to life.  She would always be willing to pray for people and had a very sweet spirit and a simple child like faith. Her sense of humor was infectious and she could always make you laugh.  Everyone heard her many quirky sayings time and again, like “Many hands make for light work.” and "a penny saved is a penny earned".

She was married in Lordsburg, NM and set off on an amazing life journey with Bill around the country.  People knew them as Bill and Mary Kay since they were pretty much inseparable. While together they moved around the country from the East Coast to the West Coast, including Arizona, California, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Florida and Colorado.  Everywhere they went Mary Kay was able to meet new people with her contagious personality.

Mary loved Colorado and her and Bill worked at the bed store Beds, Beds and Beds and later for the Mattress King for most of their time there.  She loved to meet new people and enjoyed sales.  Mary Kay spent her later years in the panhandle of Florida where she lived in her own home and knew most of the neighbors.  She enjoyed living in Florida and loved the weather there without any snow. She called all of her family regularly to talk with everyone and spent time with her daughter Elizabeth. She lived an exciting, sometimes crazy and quite amazing life.

Mary Kay is survived by three children: Elizabeth, John, and Bob as well as her seven grand people.
