Marvin Elmer Wallace III, born on December 28, 1941, in Vandalia, Illinois, journeyed home to be with Jesus on January 4, 2025. We will celebrate his wonderful life on Saturday, January 18th at noon at Leatherwood-Asbury Church located at 2912 Leatherwood Rd. Stewart, TN 37175. He was the son of Marvin Elmer Wallace II and Mary Fredricka Bahney Wallace. Marvin grew up alongside his three sisters, Jacquie Buletti, Janis Davis, and Mary Fredricka Stewart. His childhood was marked by frequent moves across various states and even Germany, following his father’s career as an Army officer. In 1959, Marvin joined the Navy, embarking on a lfe of service and adventure. While stationed in Iceland, he married Ragnhildurkolka on October 26, 1961. Together, they welcomed as son, Marvin Elmer Wallace IV. Both Kolka and their son reside in Iceland. After his time in the Navy, Marvin pursued his passion for motorcycles-a love that defined much of his life. Whether riding short distances or embarking on cross-country journeys, he found freedom and joy on two wheels. Later in life he also rekindled his love for horses, a passion rooted in his youth aa a wrangler. A skilled craftsman by trade, Marvin worked as a carpenter, furniture builder, handyman and tile setter. While living in Washington State he met Catherine Yvonne Watson through their shared love of music. They married of November 25, 2005, and made their home in Tennessee. Together, they embraced life’s adventures—riding their Victory Kingpin motorcycle along scenic roads and enjoying music festivals and performing at open mic nights. Their life together was filled with family, friends and much love. Marvin’s resilience and determination earned him the admiration of many who called him a “warrior.” His presence will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Watson, his son, Marvin Wallace IV, his three sisters, Jacque, Janis, and Mary, his daughter, Angela Coryell, his 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
