Marvin Shaver

It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of Marvin Dean Shaver on December 2, 2020 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado.

Marv was born in Grand Junction, CO February 4, 1940 to Claud Palmer Shaver and Verl Fern Mitchel. At age 2, the family moved to Douglass, Kansas. Marv attended Kansas State University graduating in 1962, then moved to Colorado. After working for a brief period at Samsonite, Marv then served two years in the Army during the Vietnam war, stationed in France. After his deployment, Marv returned to Colorado and was employed by the Federal government for the remainder of his working life, retiring at age 57 after 30 years of service. During his time in the Federal government, he took the opportunity to live in Germany for 3 years with his young family, traveling throughout much of Europe for work and vacation.

Marv was never a smoker, yet was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in early 2020, passing later that year surrounded and survived by his sons David Shaver currently residing in Boulder, CO, Brian Shaver of Ft Collins, CO and his beloved companion of 25 years, Sky A. Redwood. He was preceded in death by his brother James Shaver of Augusta, Kansas and his brother John Shaver of Douglass, Kansas.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
