Age 66, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Martin was born in Salem, NM on September 5, 1950, to Tiburcio Lopez and Mary Beltran. He was preceded in death by his father Tiburcio Lopez and mother, Mary Beltran; brothers Pete, Danny, Manuel (Duke), Sammy and Raymond. Martin is survived by his wife, Janet M Lopez of Placitas, NM; his sons Martin Jr. and Timothy; daughter-in-law Antoinette Lopez; granddaughters Jalissa and Dulcinea Lopez; his brother Tony Lopez; his sisters Mary Helen Chavez, Mary Ann Bustillos and Annie Mae Ortega; his brothers-in-law Augie Chavez and Jim Jonen; sister-in-law Debbie Jonen; his many cousins, nieces and nephews; and his dogs King and Augusta. Martin attended Hatch Elementary, Ernie Pyle Middle School, and graduated from West Mesa High School. Martin was currently sponsoring a child in Ecuador through Children International and volunteered at God's Warehouse where he was able to share his testimony. Martin became a Christian and turned his life around, leaving drugs and alcohol behind. Martin was currently retired. He Held many and varied jobs, such as custodian at Chugach, Inc., custodian and special process operator at IEC Electronics (aka GTC), courier for his own company Lopez Delivery, custodial crew leader RCI. Martin belonged to Truth Car Club and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, fishing, his '55 Chevy, and studying and teaching the Bible. Martin belonged to Christian Fellowship of Bernalillo and New Beginnings Church of God. Service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017, 1:00 pm at New Beginnings Church of God, 3601 Montgomery Blvd NE, Albuquerque.
