Marthena Murray

Marthena Murray was born on June 16, 1942 in Yonges Island, South Carolina to Sammie and Lovey (Jenkins) Murray. She also graduated from Baptist Hill High School in Yonges Island. She moved from South Carolina to Gary, Indiana after graduating high school where she lived until 1995. At that time she moved to Aurora, Colorado for retirement and to be closer to family. Marthena was a Welder, Correctional Officer, and a Certified Nurses Assistant. She also obtained a Certificate in Ministry.

Marthena is preceded in death by her father Sammie Murray and mother Lovey Murray, siblings Thaddeus Murray, Thomas Murray, Sam Murray, Jr., Richard Murray, Hurklee Murray, Philip Murray, Marshall R. Murray and her beloved grandson DeVon Pierre Allen.

Marthena is survived by her children Stacey G. Harris, Djuna T. Allen, and Rachell N. Hall, her siblings Margaret (Murray) Davis, Rosalie (Murray) Davis, Idell (Murray) Jennings, LoveyJean (Murray) Mitchell, Ozzie Murray, Charlie Murray, and James Murray, her grandchildren DeMarkus Harris, Darius D. Cadena, T'aira A. Hall, and Elijah M. Hall, and her only great granddaughter Malayah Oneida Bryant along with a host of nieces and nephews.
