Martha Bergherm

Martha Jane Bergherm, age 84, died in Colorado Springs, CO on January 30, 2021. The cause was Covid-19.
Born December 27, 1936 in Gary, Indiana, she eventually made her way to Colorado, where she received a
degree in education from UCCS and worked in education, teaching in various districts in Colorado Springs
and in Crown Point, NM. She later worked in Colorado Springs at the Colorado School for the Deaf &
Blind until retiring.

Jane served in the Peace Corps in Lesotho, Africa in the '90s and was active in her neighborhood watch
group. She wrote and illustrated several children's books that she sold locally and also enjoyed traveling,
painting, ice cream, and the music of J. Lo.

Survivors include her three children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by her beloved husband, Henry E. Bergherm.
