Mark Johnson

Mark Alan Johnson was born on March 12, 1977 in Goodland, KS to David and Debra Johnson. The family moved to Garden City when Mark was three, and he attended school there, graduating high school in 1995. Mark started out working in a hot dog wagon in front of Dillons Grocery Store, then moving to the grocery department of Dillons. He was a waiter/bar tender at Lone Star in Garden City while he attended Garden City Community College, before moving to Denver, CO. His career with Premier Ventures started at Paramount Cafe, where he was a waiter, and then moved up to manager, and ultimately becoming general manager of Govnrs Park Tavern; another part of Premier Ventures.
Mark is survived by his mother, Debra Bayless and husband Tom of Parsons, KS; his father, David Johnson and wife Lindy of Garden City, KS; brothers, Chris Johnson of Goodland, KS, Doug Johnson of Brighton, CO, and Andy Johnson of Loveland, CO; grandmother, Charline Johnson of Goodland, KS; Uncle Archie and Aunt Patty Wicke godparents of Goodland, KS; Aunt Kay and Uncle Gary Koehn of Lynwood, WA; Aunt Linnie Elder of LaCygne, KS; and Uncle Marty and Aunt Beth Johnson of Goodland, KS. 3 Stepsisters and 2 Stepbrothers, and a host of cousins and friends.
Mark is preceded in death by his Grandpa Jack Johnson, Papa Eric Wicke, Grammie Rosella Wicke, and Uncle Philip Wicke.
Mark was a very loving and caring man. He was quick with a smile, and a helping hand, and he loved to and had a very infectious laugh. Playing harmless pranks on famity and co-workers was something he also very much enjoyed. He will be sadly missed by all that were fortunate to know and love him.
Memorials can be sent to Bateman Funeral Home, 211 Broadway, Goodland KS, in memory of Mark to benefit the 'Big Nose Fund', which is to help employees of Premier Ventures who may have hardships.
