Marjorie Alice Hildebrandt, of Centennial Colorado, passed away September 16, 2020 with her daughter and the loving staff of Someren Glenn Community by her side.
Marjorie was born January 7, 1935 to Carl and Ella Hildebrandt in Clear Lake, South Dakota.
After graduating high school, Marjorie attended a technology school in Minneapolis Minnesota and received her lab technician certificate.
At the tender age of 19 Marjorie accepted a job in Estes Park, Colorado over the phone site unseen to work for a doctor. She came to Colorado in 1954 and ultimately made Denver her home. While living at the YWCA for eight years, Marjorie developed and maintained life long friendships that spanned over 60 years.
Marjorie had one daughter, Karla, whom she raised alone and provided her with every opportunity and loving experience available.
In addition to being a faithful church member, loving mother, and steadfast friend, Marjorie dedicated 46 years of her life serving the medical community and working in several hospitals, clinics, and doctor's offices. She retired from her medical career in 2000.
Marjorie was an avid writer and kept daily journals her entire life. She had endless patience with everyone around her and made friends everywhere she went. She was the most patient and loving grandmother to her three granddaughters spending hours reading to them, playing games and making art together.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ella Hildebrandt. Her brother Herb Hildebrandt, sister Leona Schiefelbein, and her niece, Lora Lei Hildebrandt.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Karla Dodge, son in law, Patrick Dodge and granddaughters, Julie, Jenna, Paige Dodge, nephew Larry Hildebrandt, nieces Mary Salmon, Nancy Weiss, and Jean Kemnitz in addition to several great nieces and nephews.
Marjorie had the amazing gift of being a friend to everyone she met and she cultivated the most rich and long lasting friendships with so many people. Her smiling face and graciousness will be deeply missed by all.
A private memorial will be held for the immediate family to remember and celebrate Marjorie's triumphant life.
