Marie Louise Reynolds, née Klancic, passed September 11th, 2018 at the age of 89. Preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Anna (Meusel) Klancic, and brothers Robert and Paul.
Marie was born November 24th 1928 in Chicago, Illinois and was proud to be the first U.S. born Klancic in the family tree. She contracted polio at an early age, and attended a middle school for handicapped children. With the love and support of an amazing mother she graduated from Lakeview High School in 1947. She moved to California to leave the Chicago winters which were difficult for her as she dealt with the residual effects of polio as she got older. She spent many years in Los Angeles before eventually retiring in Arizona. She lived on her own until she was 84 years old. In her last years she moved to Colorado to be closer to family.
She was an artist and a lover of the fine arts. She also loved animals, especially Charlie her pet cockatiel of whom she said "keeps me from talking to myself so much". For many years she volunteered for recording audio for the Blind and Dyslexic. She was a loving and independent person, who was always willing to listen and offer advice.
"Marlise" is survived by her cousin Sue Jansen, "Aunt Louise" or "AZ Auntie" by her Klancic nieces and nephews: Mark, Chris, Tony, Lee (Hoekstra), Judy (Waddick), Joy, Jill and Scott, and "Chocolate Auntie" by 13 grandnieces and grandnephews. She will be dearly missed, but those who loved her are comforted knowing that she was welcomed to heaven and into the arms of her family - whom she missed so much.
