Maria Rosales

I don't want you to miss me. Even in her final moments, Maria put others first. She continued to exhibit the same attributes that had defined her life to the very end - compassion, consideration, caring, and love.

Maria Lozano Rosales, age 63, passed away from lung cancer at home on Thanksgiving Day 2015, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her husband, Dave, her three sons, Dennis, Alex, and Rick, and three grandchildren.

There was never a dull moment growing up in the Lozano household where Maria, Michael, Diana, and Kathy all shared a special bond. She met her husband Dave and they began their life together in 1978. For the next 37 years, they split their time between volunteering, spending time with family and traveling the world. For more than two decades they sailed the high seas on cruises, often incorporating friends and family. She lived a very active lifestyle and could often be found walking or biking to the closest Starbucks for a grande non-fat latte. Later in life she completed her bachelor's in Human Resources at Oakland University. She also majored in Maria History, leaving behind countless calendars, photo albums, and memorabilia documenting the precious moments and people that filled her robust life.

Maria, I'm sorry to say we will all miss you. But everyone who has ever met you is a better person for it.
