Margaret Holscher

March 29, 1938 — June 16, 2016

Peggy, as she liked to be called, passed away on June 16, 2016 in Aurora, Colorado after a courageous fight with lung and colon cancer.

She was born to Avula Evans Norton and William John Norton in Springer, New Mexico on March 29, 1938. She grew up with her sisters, Marion and Alice, and attended school in Las Vegas, New Mexico, where she met her husband, John C. Holscher. They were married September 1953 in Norman, Oklahoma. Because of her husband being in the military, it took them to several locations; Oklahoma, Hawaii, Texas, and Oregon. Their son, John Michael, was born November 1953 and their daughter, Marsha Lynn in June 1959. They settled in Southern California where she worked for McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) and Mary Kay Cosmetics, where she retired from in June 2000. Upon retiring, she moved to Colorado to be closer to some of her family.

She enjoyed crocheting and made several afghan blankets for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. She would attend craft fairs in the fall, selling her crocheted items. Some of the things that she also enjoyed were traveling, spending time with family, gambling (slot machines), and just having a good time.

Peggy is survived by her son, John Holscher (Lori) of San Diego, CA; her daughter, Marsha VonKoepping of Aurora, CO; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Ryanna, Sarah, and Kyle; three great grandchildren, Kalia, Michael, and Madison; niece, Rhonda; cousins, Carol and Sandi; and also her beloved dog, Bridgette.

She wished to be cremated and not have a service, but her family and friends to 'have a party on her'. Her other wish is to be have her ashes spread at the family cemetery in Springer, NM, which will be done at a later date.

Her family wishes that you remember her as they do; the spunky little Irish woman, full of love, being able to 'talk to anyone', and always caring more for others than herself.
