Late Friday night, March 1, Margaret Hope Furr succumbed in her courageous battle with vascular dementia, passing away at Kingston Residences of Santa Fe while under hospice care. After hearing from all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that day, Margaret left us, her suffering over. Her family and friends will miss her dearly; her spirit and love continue to inspire us. All of us wish Maggi a heavenly Mother’s Day.
Margaret was a loving mother and grandmother, full of energy and artistic talent, talents she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She loved sailing, her family, and her art.
She was born in Yorkshire, England where she grew up, went to art college, married and had her first two children. After moving to Canada she had twins and then moved to the USA. She eventually ended up in Lubbock, TX where she remarried, then retiring in Annapolis.
Margaret leaves behind four children, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two more greatgrandchildren who are on the way.
Many thanks to the staff at Kingston Residences of Santa Fe and Amber Care Hospice, as well as Avista Santa Fe who handled final arrangements. The family will hold a memorial service in September at St. Anne’s Parish on Church Circle where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband.
