Lucy Garcia

Lucy Rodriguez Garcia was born December 13, 1942 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Lucy passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on June 4, 2018. She was 75 years young. Lucy is survived by her great-nephew Wayne R. Tafoya Jr, his wife Marie E. Tafoya, also great-niece and their daughter, Danielle T. Tafoya, who is Lucy’s great-great-niece, all welcomed her into their home and took care of her when her husband Joe Garcia passed away almost five years ago until she passed away in her own bed. She is also survived by her god-daughter/daughter, Christina Saiz (Nash) and grandson Che. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many other family members and special friends.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Jose (Joe) Garcia, her parents Loretto and Magdalena Rodriguez. Lucy was the last of ten siblings. Her brothers and sisters were Vickie Archuleta, Helen Mares, Rosina Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez, Sotero Rodriguez, Rafael Rodriguez, Pedro Rodriguez and Polinar Rodriguez.

Services will be on Thursday, June 28, 2018, there will be a rosary at 9:00 a.m. and a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Church. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m.

The Family of Lucy Rodriguez Garcia has entrusted the care of their beloved one to Avista Cremation & Burial.
