Louis LaFont Biss, born on March 4, 1939, in Kalamazoo, Michigan,
passed away October 14, 2018 at home with his wife and family by his
side. Preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Nelly Biss, sister
Helen, and daughter Lori Lynn Biss. Louis, affectionately known as Louie
by friends and family, is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Biss,
and daughters, Kathryn (Tim) Bates, Anne-Marie (Larry) Taylor, Diane
(Mike) Alsop, and Tracy (Chuck) Sparks, and his best friend until the
end, his dog Omaha. His siblings, Shirley Schidel, Sherman Biss, Dolores
Cherette, and Beverly O'Dell. He was the proud Grandpa to 12
Grandchildren, and GG-pa to 8 Great Grandchildren and one on the way.
He provided for his family with a devoted career at Gibson Guitar for 45
years, serving in many capacities not only to the company, but to the
many friends he made along the way. He was an avid sports fan and
lover of the outdoors often fishing and camping. More than anything
else, Louie enjoyed spending time with his family, laughing, telling
stories, and being together. Vigil held at St. Stephen's Catholic Church,
Saturday, October 20, at 10am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11am.
