Lois Eleanor Carson, Denver native, age 98, died in her independent living apartment May 11, 2014.
Mrs. Carson was born in Arvada, Colorado. When she was a child her family moved to Denver where she attended Denver schools and graduated from North High.
Finding a job after high school during the Depression years was very difficult, but she persisted, applying weekly at the phone company downtown until she was finally hired.
On December 12, 1936, she married Louis T. Carson, Jr. They enjoyed outdoor activities, gathering with friends, and church activities. After her husband's passing in 1971 she continued to be very active with her friends, bridge clubs, traveling, hiking club, church activities, sewing, needlework, creating note cards and enjoying her grandkids.
Mrs. Carson is survived by her sons: Tom and his wife Carol of Washington state and Barry and his wife Nancy of Denver. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Sara Handy of Littleton, Scot Carson and his wife Christine of Arvada, Beth Marohnich and her husband Grant of Washington state, Rob Carson and his wife Kate of Califonia, and Jen Czarnecki and her husband Ron of Golden. Other survivors include eight great grandchildren: Nicholas Handy, Joshua Carson, Katie Carson, Kylie Marohnich, Hailyn Marohnich, Daniel Carson, Oliver Carson, and Taylor Czarnecki.
A special thanks to her care givers at the Gardens at St. Elizabeth's for their devoted, compassionate, loving care of Lois.
