Lisbeth Schettler was born in Wiesloch, Germany on July 2nd, 1936 and joined her loving husband, Paul J Schettler, on May 12, 2016.
Having lived through World War II Liz immigrated to the United States when she was 17. While living with her Aunt and Uncle she worked at a clothing factory and met her future husband, Paul Schettler. They were married on May 26th, 1957. Paul and Michael joined the family in 1958 and 1961 respectfully. The family moved to New Hyde Park, Long Island where they lived to raise their two sons.
After her husband's passing in 1992, Lisbeth relocated to Denver, Colorado to be closer to her youngest son Michael.
She became an active member at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Liz had a variety of interests that kept her busy during her life here in Denver. Knitting, reading, gardening, watching the Broncos, helping at Star Market, loving her grandchildren, traveling and keeping a clean home occupied her time.
As her health began to decline in 2012, Liz's strong faith in God kept her positive and upbeat in spite of the pain and suffering that she was experiencing.
Liz will be missed by the many family members and friends that loved her dearly:
Sons: Paul Schettler, wife Rosemarie, daughters Karin and Lisa and son Jacob
Michael Schettler, wife Tina, daughters Kyle, husband Scott, Grayce and son Ryan
Siblings: sisters Trudle Hansert husband Klemens, Clara Ritter husband Gerhardt, brother Ludwig Lauinger wife Helga and the many nieces and nephews that Liz loved so much.
It was Liz's wish to be returned to New York at Calverton National Cemetery in Suffolk County, where she'll be buried beside her loving husband.
The memorial fund designated by the family is The Denver Hospice.
