Linda Anne Black, 83, passed away January 2, 2022 at Garden Terrace, Aurora, CO. She was predeceased by her husband, Army Veteran Theodore Black.
Linda, the oldest daughter of the late Paul and Carol Locklin, was born in Cleveland, OH, October 25, 1938. The family moved to Los Angeles, CA, where they lived during the war years. The filming industry - Hollywood - was very local in those days and it was common to see movie stars around town; Linda developed an enduring fascination with cinema from that time.
The Locklin family, now including Linda’s two younger sisters, moved to Colorado in 1951. Linda graduated from Aurora High School in 1956. She then attended Smith College, North Hampton, MA, and graduated in 1960 with a B.F.A. in American History.
She worked for TWA as a flight attendant; her home base was New York City from where she traveled widely. When she retired, she headed home to Colorado where she met and married, Ted Black. Linda and Ted had no children, but they did adopt an array of lovable mutts.
She is survived by by her two sisters, Constance Jo (“Connie”) Bull and Margaret Barreto ( “Meris”), in addition to her nieces, Victoria Bull, Catharine (“Katie”)Bull Davies, Diana Bull Weber, Julia Barreto Hodgson, and their extended families.
Linda was a maven of many things: movies, literature, words - She regularly polished off the New York Times Crossword Puzzle - knitting and dogs. She will be remembered for sharing her prodigious memory doused with witty humor.
