Lillie Ann Pergola (Savich), age 91, of Denver, CO passed away at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge on November 11, 2016.
Lillie was born in Silverton, CO on April 26, 1925 to parents Pete and Annie Savich. She was raised and schooled in Silverton and later moved to Denver.
While in Denver, Lillie met the love of her life, Joseph S. Pergola. They were married and together raised their two children, Joey and Anna Marie.
Lillie was a hard worker and in her early years was employed by Public Service and then by Gulf Oil until she took a break to raise her children. Not one to sit still long, Lillie then went to work at Hatch's Books at Lakeside Mall where she enjoyed her role as Assistant Manager for many years until the mall closed. She then took, what would be her final position, at Walgreens on 44th and Wadsworth and worked full-time until an injury forced her into "early" retirement at age 87.
Lillie was always proud of her family. Over the years she proved to be a loving mother to her son Joey and his wife J'Laine and her daughter Anna Marie. She was the best grandmother anyone could ask for to her grandchildren, grandsons JoJo and his wife Margo, and Tony and his wife Jenny, and her granddaughter Gina Walter and her husband Jeff. And what a blessing it was that she was able to be in the lives of 7 great-grandchildren, Capriana, Miracle, Anthony, Joseph, Mercy, Vincent and one more who will be joining the family within the month. Lillie also loved and cared for many nieces, nephews, and cousins and especially enjoyed living across the street from her nephew Pat Mariano who was practically like a son to her.
So full of life, Lillie made an impression on everyone she met. You could not wait to hear what was going to come out of her mouth next! She was spunky and sarcastic, in fact I'm sure that she is rolling her eyes right now listening to the description of how much she meant to us.
Lillie was preceded in death by her husband Joe, sisters Helen, Mary, and Margie, brothers Tommy and Johnnie as well as many other relatives and close friends. As she was always quick to point out, "There aren't too many of us oldsies left".
Family and friends are all welcome to join in celebrating the life of Lillie in the Parish Hall at Mt. Carmel Church in Denver on Sunday, November 20th at 3:00PM.
For those wishing to do so, donations can be made to the American Heart Association in Lillie's name.
