Lea Wright

Lea Adrian Wright (Hines), 71, of Denver, Colorado, passed away March 2, 2018 in her home with her family by her side. She is survived by her children Chanteé, Garren and Siet.

On December 25, 1946, Lea Adrian Hines was born in McKinney, Texas to Beecham G. Hines and Frances L. Barnett and had an older sister Judy. Following her, after her mother remarried were her sisters Debbie and Opal; brothers Billy, Mike and Terry Madding. She graduated from Richardson High School and attended Eastfield College in Texas. In 1969, she married the love of her life Thomas P. Wright, Jr. of Irving, Texas. They had a dream to move to Colorado, where their family continues to grow. She is preceded in death by her parents Beecham and Frances, husband Tom and brothers Mike and Terry.

Lea was a dedicated and loyal matriarch to her family and was loving, generous and always worried about everyone else. She was also smart, ambitious, funny, sassy, independent, bold, and a strong woman who was very capable of anything life handed her. Lea taught her children to take initiative and be independent and to understand the value of family. She was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren Travis, Courtney, Kelsea, Devon and Ula. Lea enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her great-grandchildren Destiny, Chasity, Aiyana, and Kyla.

She was a natural leader and teacher in life who loved to give a lot of advice whether you wanted it or not. She worked for Denver Water before retiring. Lea was always a hard worker and instilled those ethics into her family, she never sat still even after retirement. Lea had an entrepreneurial mind and was interested in many things. Her passions included travel, photography, cooking, dining out, going to the beach, living life fully, and being with her family. She had a natural flare for striking up a conversation and getting a stranger to laugh. Her hobbies included going to theaters, museums, shopping, and spending time with her family. She was also famous for being an enthusiastic dancer, loved to talk, natural ability to make people laugh, sincere, compassionate, and had a sarcastic sense of humor up to the very end. She will be truly missed and remembered. She leaves behind her family and friends to honor her memory.

A memorial in her honor will be held on Lookout Mountain, date and time to be determined.
