Lawrence Eckhoff

February 7, 1928 — October 23, 2012

Larry Eckhoff passed away peacefully on October 23 at home. He was born in Spring Lake, Michigan in 1928. In college he went through the ROTC program at Michigan Tech where he graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Going on to the Air Force he became a fighter pilot in the Korean war flying F80's. As a lieutenant he flew over a hundred missions. The war stories he amassed were enjoyed by anyone who heard them. While in Korea he received 5 medals including Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He is survived by his loving wife Mary, 3 sons, David, Lee, and Curt, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. As a member of the Littleton Rotary Club, Larry would have liked any money that might be spent for flowers to, instead, go to the Littleton Chapter. Memorial Service, Tuesday, October 30th at 10am, 1st Presbyterian Church, 1609 W Littleton Blvd. with reception to follow, Committal Services, Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd. Area "B" at 12:30pm
