Laura Sanchez

Born in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba April 11, 1953.

Laura joined her parents and other beloveds from Aurora, Colorado, August 28th, 2017.

She was Survived by: Son, MateoLuis (Ashley) Ruiz-Williams, son Enrique (Rosie) Ruiz-Williams, daughter Laurette (Maurice) Potter, daughter Lily (Robby) Zehner.
Grandchildren: Antonio, Michael, Darius, Vicktoria & Grae
Siblings: Peter (Linda) Sanchez and their children: Danny, Natalie, Ayla, David.
And numerous extended family in Miami, FL and other states.

Before Laura was trapped in her body living with Alzheimer's she was very active in her church community, with her family community and beloved by all.

She was a strong and proud Deaf Cuban woman who loved her family, friends, animals and confetti fiercely.

She moved to the US as a young girl. Where She attended the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind (FSDB) and graduated in 1972.

She danced to the beat of her own drum. And she was a brilliant Cuban drummer.

In lieu of flowers and food, if you feel so moved to do so, we ask that you donate in her name to Deaf Overcoming Violence through Empowerment (DOVE), or Colorado Alzheimer's Association or do a random act of kindness for someone.

Due to an unexpected conflict, we will postpone the memorial service to another date to be determined. Thank you for your understanding and support. We will keep you all posted here or via Facebook. Thank you.
