Laquita Myklebust

LaQuita Mullings Myklebust, beloved mother, GiGi, sister, aunt and friend departed this life on December 28, 2015 at Swedish Hospital in Englewood, Colorado at the age of 58.

She was born September 19, 1957 in Seagraves, Texas to Paul Raymond Mullings and Mary Juanelle Stevenson, and as a child she lived in Brownfield, Texas. She later moved to Wolfforth, Texas when she was a teenager and graduated from Frenship High School. She worked for 1mage Software Inc. for the past 20 years in Centennial, Colorado. She married Mark Alan Myklebust on May 17, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Little Chapel of the West.

Wherever LaQuita was she was like a force of nature that swept through the room. She loved her family and friends unconditionally, and made our lives better. She was loving, loyal, kind, resilient, and feisty. She had a great sense of humor and could bring a smile to your face by just being in your presence. She was deeply loved and words cannot express how much she will be missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mark Paul Gonzales of Englewood, Colorado, her sister, Karen Smith of Denver, Colorado, her brother, Everette Smith of Lubbock, Texas and her granddaughter, Savanah Gonzales of Englewood, Colorado as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mark Alan Myklebust, and her brother, Paul Michael Mullings. Services to celebrate LaQuita's life will be held January 2, 2015 at Bear Valley Church, 10001 W. Jewell Ave., Lakewood, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Save the Children charities.
