Kenneth Kienzle

May 26, 1954 — August 23, 2012

Born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Forest Hills, Queens, Kenny died on Aug 23rd at the age of 58 at St Anthony's West Hospital in Denver from injuries sustained as a result of being hit by a car while riding his bicycle to work on Wed. Aug 22nd.

Loving husband to the late Nita Lightfoot Kienzle, son of the late Walter & late Alice Kienzle, beloved brother of Susan Kienzle Pobjoy, a nephew and godson to Ed & Madeline Kienzle and cousin to Bob & Carol Kienzle and Janet & Ron Fouche, he leaves behind many friends from across the country who will miss his positive attitude, enthusiasm, genuine smile, huge heart and sense of fun.

Although a proud recent graduate of Westwood College with an Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design, Kenny's first love and greatest pleasure came from working with wood. He was the ultimate craftsman. Over the course of his career he owned KKWood, worked for other shops, and built many kitchens, cabinets and unique works of beauty in wood. He spent his life living either in NY or Colorado, always trying to balance his love of the mountains with his passion for NYC and the ocean. He loved the outdoors, was an Eagle Scout, a keen skier, loved to play tennis, watch movies, cook, ride his bike and talk…

He was a registered organ donor. His liver and kidneys have been donated so others might benefit from his tragic and untimely death.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Sep 4, 2012 at 5pm at Horan & McConaty family Chapel at 3020 Federal Blvd in Denver.
