Kay Duran, age 80, a resident of Arvada, Colorado, passed away on August 28, 2018 of complications resulting from COPD. Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Glen Kaffenberger and Geraldine Rhodes, her step-mother Deloma Kaffenberger, her sisters Pam Williams and Yvonne Kaffenberger, her brother Larry Kaffenberger, and eldest daughter Tammy Granzow. She is survived by her husband Jake Duran, age 79 and living in Loveland, CO, her sister Cheryl Ann Gannaway, age 60 and living in Plattsmouth, NE, her brother Ricky Kaffenberger, age 63 and living in Plattsmouth, NE, and four of her five children, Jeffrey Liddick, age 59 and living in Arvada, CO, Dwan Mendoza, age 55 and living in Chandler, AZ, Tonya Michener, age 50 and living in Arvada, CO, and John Johnson, age 45 and living in Spokane, WA. Kay has chosen to be cremated and for her remains to be distributed among her children and her parents' resting places in Plattsmouth, NE. Kay worked at King Soopers and retired from CoorsTek in Golden, CO. She was immensely dedicated to her large family, her fondest moments spent with her grandchildren and family gatherings. She was an avid fan of all-star wrestling, and enjoyed word-search puzzles and eating tacos. Kay is survived by 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial celebration of her life is being scheduled at a future date.
