Kathie Ann Blea, 72, of Denver, CO, passed away peacefully on December 27th after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Kathie was born on February 25, 1951 to Betty and R.Glenn Blea in Denver, CO. After graduating from John F. Kennedy High School, Kathie attended the University of Northern Colorado. She graduated in 1973 with a BA in Education - Theater Arts & English. At different times in her life, Kathie was a teacher, a gemologist, and a numismatist, and up until her retirement she owned a marketing company. Kathie was heavily involved with the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. She participated in numerous community organizations that supported small businesses and she found great pride in mentorship. Kathie enjoyed going to the theater, meeting with her book club, and attending game nights with her friends. Kathie loved a good party with friends and family. Kathie is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her siblings, Glynda D’Ascenz, Karen Runner, and Kenneth Blea; nephew, Devin D’Ascenz; nieces, Mescinna (Markku) Korolainen and Dineya (Davis) Morrell; numerous cousins, great nephews and nieces; and numerous close friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, 1:30 pm at Mile High Church in the Vogt Auditorium. 9077 W. Alameda Ave. Lakewood, CO 80226. Reception immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Parkinson Association of the Rockies.
