Karen Keller

May 26, 1946 — March 22, 2019

Karen (Kay) Keller was born on May 26, 1946 and passed away on March 22, 2019 in Centennial, Colorado.

Born in Denver, Colorado to Oliver and Virginia Deaton, Kay attended Aurora Central High School and graduated from Hinkley High in the first graduating class, the class of 1964. Always destined to be with her husband Ted, they both attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, where they would later graduate and marry. After several moves around the country, they settled on Centennial, Colorado.

Kay was a champion for all, often joining in protests for the proper disposal of nuclear waste at Rocky Flats, making her voice be heard for equal rights, and always fighting for the proper treatment of animals. Kay loved all animals, domesticated or not, and always surrounded herself with them.

She managed several AT&T phone center stores in the metro Denver area and retired in 2000.

She loved to travel and was able to see most of the world. She enjoyed learning about different customs, cultures and food. When not traveling, Kay enjoyed a good, cold glass of iced tea, potato chips and loved Baby Ruth candy bars.

She is survived by her husband Ted, her two daughters Melissa (Zack) and Aryn (Al) and her grandchildren (Shaun, Jack and Olivia).

Memorial Services will be held April 6th at 1:00 pm at Journey Church, 9009 Clydesdale Road, Castle Rock, CO 80108
