Karen Eihausen

Karen Joanne Eihausen, age 75 Passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Denver Hospice. She was born Karen Joanne Colby in Bethany, Kansas on October 20, 1941, daughter of Dave and Helen Christine (Paulsen) Colby.

Karen always was a team player and willing to help out. She was on the track team, went out with her beloved father to go hunting and help with going on veterinarian rounds with him when she was growing up. This dedication was also displayed when she was assisting nurses and doctors at hospitals taking care of patients while she was in Kansas.

She moved to Colorado and met George Eihausen. She started a family and then began working at Virginia Court Elementary School where she served the school district's children for 20 years before retiring. She is preceded in death by her sister Cathy Colby and parents Dave and Christine Colby. She is survived by her spouse George Eihausen, children Jesse Eihausen and Michelle Eihausen, Sister Mary Stanton and brothers David Colby and Bob Colby, and two grandchildren, Amanda and Scarlet.
