K. Glenn Shaw, 93, passed away, June 3, 2020 after living his life to the fullest every single day. He leaves 5 of his children, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren to carry on his legacy. He is pre-deceased by Mary A. Shaw, his amazing wife and the mother of their 6 children. He is also pre-deceased in death by his remarkable daughter Joan E. Lee.
Glenn's accomplishments in life are many. He served in the US Navy and graduated from Iowa State University with a dual PhD in Chemical and Electrical Engineering. He used his knowledge and intellect to benefit the world. He was instrumental in the development of Polypropylene while working at Dow Corporation, and then went on to join the team at Cordis Dow Corporation which developed the Artificial Kidney and the dialysis process. He traveled throughout the world assisting other countries in setting up their own artificial kidney manufacturing plants, making many life-long friends along the way.
Back at home, Glenn and Mary raised 6 children together. Glenn also started two women's track and field teams, Diablo Valley in Concord, California, and Fleet Feet in Midland, Michigan. His daughters were runners for both teams. Glenn proudly saw his runners compete and place in the Junior Olympics and many National events. An avid runner himself, Glenn ran many races throughout his life including the Boulder Bolder in which he placed 17th in all-time records for his time & his age group. He set this record when he was 86.
During his retirement, Glenn coached track in Meeker, Colorado. He also enjoyed volunteering at The Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library and serving as a docent at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Glenn was a man full of life and he pursued his love of travel visiting places around the globe as far as Africa, South Africa and Antarctica. He had a love of the sea and enjoyed time with family and friends on his boat in Florida.
He will be missed by his family and many friends throughout the world.

A memorial service will be held in the fall.
