Julia Victoria Ray aka Vickie Ray age 70, passed away October 2nd, 2018 at 9:20 AM at the Denver Hospice facility in Denver CO surrounded by her loving family and the incredibly compassionate staff. She was born May 25th, 1948 in Hattiesburg MS to the late Chester Hilton and Dora LaNell Erwin. She and her late sister, Rebecca "Becky" Ann, grew up together in Hattiesburg in a very loving home. Vickie had a beautiful voice and she often sang at events and in a band in her teenage years. She met her one true love Leland Martin Ray in Hattiesburg and married on November 19th, 1967. They moved to Texas to raise a family and in 1980, she began to work for Bechtel Corporation as a Traffic & Logistics Administrator. It was there, she made some of the most lasting friendships of her life. She retired October 30th, in the year 2000 and got to spend the next 4 years enjoying golf and relaxing with her husband. Sadly he passed in 2004 and she decided to join her daughter and son-in-law in Colorado in 2006. A few years later her loving son and his family moved up to Colorado as well to be closer to her. She moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in June 2018 for ease and care. Left to honor her are her two children Amy Shippey and Randy Ray, son-in-law Bryan Shippey, daughter-in-law Nicole Ray, her 2 grandchildren Abigail and Olivia Ray, her niece Dena Ryan, her nephew Reid Robbins, her furry child Asa the cat, her furry grandchildren Baxter Shippey, Batmanuel "Manny" Shippey and Paisley Ray, and countless other friends and family.
