Judy Maggard

Judy Kay Maggard, age 60 died peacefully on August 4, 2014 at her son's
home in Thornton, Colorado after a long struggle with COPD. Judy was born
August 6,1953 in Canon City, Colorado, the daughter of Bruce and Irma Sams.

On March 30,1972 Judy married the love of her life, David Lewis Maggard.
They were happily married for over 42 years and raised two sons together,
David K. Maggard and Jerimy L. Maggard.

Judy thoroughly enjoyed drawing, painting, fishing, camping and collecting
frogs. She attended Adams State College where she graduated with a
Bachelor's of Arts Degree with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in
Sociology.

In addition to raising her two children David and Jerimy, she also helped
raise her nephew Shannon. Judy was employed at several companies
throughout her life, to include the Las Animas Senior Center, the La Junta
Girch Center and most recently for the Limon Correctional Facility, where
she achieved the rank of Sergeant.

Judy is survived by her husband David L. Maggard, sons David and Jerimy
Maggard, sisters Marvina, Darius and Hope as well as grandchildren, great
grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends.

May the Great Spirit bless you with knowledge of your inner strength and
wisdom. May you have the strength of Eagles Wings, the faith and courage
to fly to new heights, and the wisdom of the universe to carry you there.

You will be missed.
