Judith Waters

Judith Berniece Waters, she liked to be called Judy, entered this world June 15 1942 in Augusta, Kentucky.  Judy was soon adopted by her adoptive parents Reverend Harold and Berniece Maish.  She was the oldest of three other adopted children by 15 years,  Mark, David and Anna Lee.  David, Mark and her parents are deceased. Judy went to Xenia High school in Xenia, Ohio and attended Trevacca Nazarene College in Nashville, TN.

Judy loved music. She Played the piano and sang in the church choir, solos and quartets and sang for several weddings.  She worked as a surgical Technician in Xenia, Ohio before moving to Pueblo, Colorado with her family in 1965 when she became ill with leukemia.  The doctors gave 3 months to live but her church friends and parents held numerous prayer meetings in her name and God healed her to never have leukemia again.  During this time she met Lyle Waters from the La Junta Nazarene Church through the pastor there, and her dad.  Lyle and Judy fell in love and married on November 26, 1965.  Judy worked as receptionist in Doctor Offices, had 3 miscarriages, and numerous surgeries. The couple tried being foster parents a couple of times but it did not workout.

Judy and Lyle moved to Fort Collins Colorado in 1976 where Judy enrolled in Nurses training and became a Nurse assistant in the OB Lab at Poudre Valley Hospital. Judy loved babies so much she started a baby sitting service for parents and then became a Nanny for several families at different times.

The couple moved to Denver, Colorado in 1997 and Judy continued her Nanny services for several more families until she retired in 2012 when her physical attributes began to diminish and pain set in.  She was in Home Care and Nursing homes for the last 5 years and in and out of Hospice 2 times.  God took care of her until HE decided to take her home where she is at peace and no pain with her savior, Jesus Christ.

Judy’s Hobbies and her interests:

> She loved interior decorating the house and was good at it.

>She collected Santa Clauses and had them setting around the house all year long.

>She collected AMISH Articles. She had authentic bonnets, scarfs, pictures plaques and whatever she could find and purchased when we went on trips to Oho and stopped at Amish towns.

>She collected dishes, rugs, teapots and anything with apple pictures on them.

>She liked to play slots at Black Hawk.

>She loved watching Bill Gaither Homing Coming Gospel music video
