Josie S. Gonzales, 79, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017. She was born on August 28, 1937 in Belen, NM to Premitivo and Margarita (Maestas) Sanchez. She attended Coronado Elementary School, Washington Middle School and Albuquerque High School. In her early years she was employed as a Nursing Assistant with St. Joseph's Hospital. She worked for and retired from Siemans. She loved her dogs, Hiedi, Pepper, Boy and Alley and spending time outdoors. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Josie and her husband, Jose Melecio Gonzales, were the proprietors of the Casa Grande Restaurant for approximately 40 years.
Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Melecio. She is survived by her children, Steve Larry Gonzales and wife, Marty, of Albuquerque, NM, Evelyn Chavez and husband, Vince, of Placitas, NM, and Yvonne Gonzales, of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Erica and fiancee, Adrian, Estevan and wife, Ashley, André and wife, Amanda, Joseph and wife, Adrianna, and Alix; great-grandchildren, Edyn, Evah, Andre, Aydrian, Aiden, Alijah, Neaveah.
The Mass of Christian Burial and Resurrection will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Road SW, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery.
