Joseph Lee

Joe Lee was born January 24, 1940 to Vera Lee Walters in Raeford, NC. As a youngster and through high school, Joe was a resident of Boys Town (Nebraska). Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958-1962. Following his years in service, he attended Adams State College/University on a football scholarship. Joe was a member of the Alamosa Police Force and Aspen Police Department prior to moving to Denver in 1971 where he operated downtown parking facilities. Joe retired in 1998. He was an avid bike rider and weightlifter.

Joe is survived by his beloved son, Joey (Joseph) Thomas Lee II (Lemar), Los Angeles, CA; his former-wife Margaret Lee, Denver; Aunt O'Lee Bowen; cousins, Ricky and Gayle, Raeford, NC; his Boys Town Brothers, Bob Curtin (Sharon), Robert Cross (Margaret), and many more.

The family is grateful to Joe's family and friends in Denver and the San Luis Valley; to the Veterans Administration, Project Angel Heart, and Visiting Nurses Hospice for the excellent care and support.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, at 2:00 pm. at Horan & McConaty 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado with a reception to follow.
