Joseph Girtin

Joseph Donald Girtin was born in Denver, Colorado on November 16, 1954. He passed away
peacefully in Denver on April 14, 2020. Joe grew up in Englewood, Colorado and attended St. Louis
Catholic School, Flood Middle School, and Englewood High School. Joe took pleasure in spending time
with his family and enjoyed his vacations to Las Vegas, Maui, Hawaii, and road trips to numerous
Colorado mountain towns.
Joe had a strong enthusiasm for following sports teams, including the Colorado Rockies, Denver
Broncos, Denver Nuggets, and Colorado Avalanche. Joe’s favorite baseball team was the New York
Yankees. With great interest he followed the success of teams in the NFL, NBA, College Football,
especially Alabama and Clemson, and College Basketball. When Joe was younger he was an avid golfer
and over the years took great interest in the major golf tournaments.
His son Andrew, his mother and father preceded him in death. Joe is survived by his sister Donna,
brother Mark, and younger sister Theresa.
