John Rossi

November 9, 1946 — January 3, 2013

John George Rossi, devoted brother, loyal friend and Colorado native, age 66, of Westminster, Colorado died peacefully at his home with family members at his side on January 3, 2013. He was born in Oak Creek, Colorado on November 9, 1946, the oldest of 3 sons of Charles Angelo and Anita C. Rossi. He attended elementary and high school in Oak Creek, and he graduated from SOROCO High School in 1967. After graduation, John entered the United States Army where he later got a medical discharge. In his early career 1968 to 1975, he managed several bars and pizza pubs in Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota. He worked for Dodge Country USA as a new vehicle inspector from November 1975 - October 1978. He then worked for Hathaway Corporation machine shop from October 1978 to April 1986. He joined Coors Brewing Company in 1986 and worked there for 20 years. He retired from the brewery in January of 2006. John enjoyed all sports, with his favorites being the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. During his earlier years, John enjoyed fishing and big game hunting with his dad and brothers. More recently he especially loved treating himself to occasional trips to Black Hawk and Las Vegas. He always enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. In May, 2008 John was diagnosed with renal cell cancer and battled it up to his death. He is survived by his brothers, Ed Rossi Mary of Hudson, CO and James Anthony Rossi Susie of Sun Lakes, AZ, and several nieces and nephews and many special cousins. He will be deeply missed.

Memorial services will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, Wednesday, January 9, 2013, 2:00pm, 3020 Federal Blvd., Denver, CO 80211. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Denver Hospice, 501 S Cherry St., Suite 700, Denver, CO 80246.
