Celebrating the life of John Frazee Davis • September 18, 1950 to March 18, 2019

John Frazee Davis lived a life full of love and kindness. The people who knew him would often describe him as a good person with a wonderful heart. Although his life was tragically cut short while driving his cherished red truck through the mountains he always enjoyed, he accomplished a great deal during his time with us. Born a true Colorado native, he grew up in Aurora with his parents Robert and Marjory, along with his sister, Patti (George). After graduating from Aurora Central High School he attended Metropolitan State University of Denver and earned a degree in Psychology. While there, he met and fell in love with Jane Wessler, whom he married in 1973. The newlyweds spent the next few years in Chicago where Jane worked as a flight attendant and John worked as a property manager/handyman for their apartment complex. Upon returning to Denver he earned a degree in Civil Engineering and shortly thereafter began working at Richard Weingardt Consultants (RWC). Jane and John then welcomed their son, Kyle, in 1983 - nine months after the infamous blizzard.

John became a structural engineer while working at Richard Weingardt Consultants, where he became a Partner in 1987 and President in 1995. He amassed numerous awards, including the Arc Welding Award for Design and Construction, and was responsible for many notable projects throughout the country including Denver International Airport Airside Concourses, as well as many DIA projects still ongoing. Since 1987, other notable projects include: Jefferson County Government Center, Harrah's Casino in New Orleans, and Coors Field Review. He enjoyed working on projects of all shapes and sizes including one of his favorite projects, the old airplanes hanging in Concourse B at DIA. John gave back to his profession in many ways, including holding a leadership position on the Industrial Advisory Board of the CIT Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

In his spare time, John was always finding ways to stay active and healthy. He could be found traveling the world and exploring the hiking trails of Colorado with Jane and Kyle. His interests included playing the guitar, reading sci-fi novels and he was always keen on mechanical wonders such as railroads, cars, and motorcycles.

John's passing came too soon and will be deeply felt by those in his professional and personal life. He was a man we can all feel proud of for being such a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, colleague and friend. He is deeply missed. His legend will live on in the many lives he touched.
