John Salvatore Capra, 75, born April 22, 1942 in Denver Colorado passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's disease on December 3, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He graduated from Wesminster High School in 1960 and married Sandra Irwin. He later married Beverley Shrum in 1976. He was an active member of the plumber's local number 3 since 1961. He was very talented in remodeling and refurbishing old homes, even one of the historical homes in Westminster. He loved his travels throughout the world, including Egypt and many scuba trips to Cozumel. He loved football, and sharing his Saturdays with his whole family. He had a huge heart and took great pride in his family and wanting them to succeed in life. He has touched the lives of everyone he met. John was a huge part of the Italian community in North Denver and leaves a memorable legacy and will be deeply missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents Salvatore Capra and Margaret Jean Capra, and his stepson Richard (Terra) Jencks. He is survived by his wife Beverley Capra; daughters Carrie Capra, Kelly Capra Shaw and Johnna (John) Bossi; stepchildren Jim-Beau (Vicky) Jencks and Pamm Sprague; grandchildren Nicole (Chancey), Scott (Jami) McCloskey, Dan (Alisha) Sprague, Steven (Pamela) Sprague, Rachel Shaw, Delanie Shaw, Julia Bossi, and Jenna Bossi; great grandchildren Tya and Talen Pinnt; brother Doyle (Kimberly) Capra and sister Margaret Capra; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Guardian Angels Catholic Church on December 22, 2017 at 11am, followed by a luncheon at the Joyful Ballroom in Westminster. The luncheon will be a time of celebration of John's life and sharing of memories. Please feel free to bring your favorite Christmas treat to share with everyone at the luncheon.
