Jo Thorne

Jo Ann "JO" Thorne, 82, of Thornton, CO passed away February 22, 2013 in Northglenn, CO. Jo was born in Fairmont, WV to Claude and Ruth Arnett on Sept.13, 1930.
Jo was proceeded in death by her husband Lyle Thorne. Jo is survived by her sons, Ken Carmen of Thornton and Kim Patti of Highlands Ranch, grandchildren Kyle, Courtney, Adam and Jake.

Jo was a Thornton City Council member from January 1986 to November 2005, Mayor Pro Tem 2001-2005. She was on numerous boards including Parks and Open Space Advisory Board, Stapleton N.O.I.S.E. Action Committee, Board of Directors of the Agency for A Clean Thornton, Thornton Utilities Board, Thornton City Center Association, Council Rep/Chairman of the Board of Directors North Metro Fire Rescue Authority. Additionally she served on Colorado Municipal League Policy Committee, Airport Noise Forum, Airport Coordinating Committee, Council liaison to Building Code Advisory Board, National Organization to Insure a Sound-Controlled Environment N.O.I.S.E. serving as Vice-President and President, and National League of Cities Transportation Policy Committee .

No services will occur at her request. Following cremation, Jo's ashes will be given to her sons who will follow her wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations to The American Lung Association at www.lung.org/associations/states/colorado/donate.
