Jim K. Peterson, 63 years, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, passed away in his home of natural causes on June 22, 2018. Jim was born July 28, 1954 to Harris and Irma (Hansen) Peterson in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Jim was employed by the Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, for 16 years, most recently serving as Program Analyst, Project Development and IT Coordinator. Prior to working for TSA, Jim worked in restaurant, country club, hotel and food service management positions. He was also a professional photographer.
Jim loved being outdoors. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, camping, and panning for gold with friends. He took road trips to Alaska and through national parks around the country, visiting his many friends and relatives along the way.
Jim was preceded in death by an infant brother; his father, Harris; his mother, Irma; and his step-father, Benny Kost. He is survived by his sister, Sylvia Tooker; step-sister Lisa (Michael) Valletta; step-sister Debra (Keith) Leidahl; beloved cousins and other relatives.
