Jean Kenefick

Jean is survived by four of her five children and 10 grandchildren. She now re-joins her husband, Jim Kenefick, eldest daughter Mary Wren and two grandchildren, Jason and Vicky with all the rest of the family who have gone before in heaven. Jean was a loving and wise mother and grandmother and had been a steadfast and supportive wife to Jim, the love of her life.
Born in upstate New York during the great depression, Mom learned the value of pragmatism. But as the only child of Evelyn and Arthur Bushel, she'd envied the busy hive of activity that was her best friend's home of seven siblings. Her chief ambition growing up became to have and raise a large family of her own.
She met the one who would become her husband, when both she and Jim were still very young, growing up on either end of the same small factory town that was Schenectady in those days. They were married in 1956 and commenced to build the family of five children that Jean had envisioned as a child.
Jean nurtured her love of animals of all kinds throughout her life. Her dogs were of special importance to her and her experiences in raising and loving a long procession of them are chronicled in the book she was writing at the time of her death.
Jean leaves to her children and grandchildren a legacy of love. From her they learned the value of family loyalty, the importance of promises kept, a love of music and art, and to appreciate the sacred in all that is living. She will be so greatly missed and her memory cherished forever.
Funeral Mass at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish , 6673 West Chatfield Ave. Littleton, Colorado, Tuesday August 2, 2011 at 10:30 am; memoral donations suggested to a animal welfare organization of choice, which would greatly honor Jean's love of animals.
