Janet Russell

Janet A. Russell, age 80, of Elizabeth, Colorado passed away on Monday August 13, 2018. Jan was born January 29,1938 in Rushville, Indiana. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Thelma G (Kastor) and Harry J. Bruns; brother, Kenneth B. Bruns; and daughter in law Janet L Russell. Jan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph G. "Joe" Russell; her daughter, Jolene (Eric) Monteith of Elizabeth; her son, John F. Russell of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; and step daughter, Roxanne L.(John) Mewhorter of Blaine, Minnesota. Grandchildren; Evan, Elyssa and Gavin Monteith of Elizabeth Colorado, Rylan and Sloan Russell of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Roclyn (Mark) Bradshaw of Blaine, Minnesota and Arriel Mewhorter of Andover, Minnesota; a great grandson, Jayce Otto of Andover, Minnesota; sister, Betty J. DeGuire of Cicero, Indiana; sister in law, Janet S. Bruns of Rushville, Indiana; along with numerous nieces and nephews as well as other loving family and friends; also her little doggie, Shadow.

Jan battled appendiceal cancer for about a year and was in remission only to be given the heartbreaking diagnosis of AML leukemia August 8, 2018.

Jan was retired from Pentax Corporation after 21 years as an executive assistant to the president. Jan loved to travel, shop , golf, bowl, play bridge along with keeping up with grandchildren, her bridge group and The Lunch Bunch. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family! We will miss her brilliant smile and classy style! Gone too Soon!
